:Do you have to have an SECA(?) License or any kind of special license to participate in the track event?
No.
And there are actually 2 events. One is the road course Driver Education Lapping day, and the other is the Autocross. You can participate in both during the day.Autocross;
- Ensure proper lug nut torque on all your wheels.
- Ensure your helmet is a snell A2000 or M2000 rated.
- Remove your entire interior loose parts, and clean out your glove box, center console. You want nothing loose in your car, even if it's behind a door or under the seat.
- Check your battery fluids, and ensure it is TIGHT.
- Check tire pressures and tread depth.
- Bleed brakes with proper Dot4 fluid. RoadCourse

E. This especially includes the rear cargo area, spare tire, tire wrench, etc.

- Check your battery fluids, and ensure it is TIGHT.
- Bleed brakes with proper Dot4 fluid.
- Install new brake pads and bed them in before the event.
- Check for vacuum leaks, and inspect all your hoses and clamps.
- It's not a terrible idea to consider an oil change, but certainly not mandatory. Other then that, prepare to have a good time, and don't try and become a hero. Start nice and easy/slow and build your way up to speed. Most importantly LISTEN to your instructor.
If you fail to do any of these things, there is a chance that you will not be able to participate, loosing your entrance fees entirely, or you may have a really crappy time because your car cannot perform to it's capabilities.
